Sandon and Ambergate Schools both took part in Grantham’s recent Bridge Project. The Bridge Project is an arts, engineering and social cohesion project with the aim to bring local groups together through art, music, circus and dance.
As part of the project the schools entered the School Bridge Challenge Competition where they had to construct a bridge using resources such as card, lego, plastic bottles etc.
Oak Class from Sandon and a mixed group of pupils from Ambergate each built a bridge that went on display in Grantham Museum during the ‘Bridge Week’ from 7th – 15th September.
Pupils also had the opportunity to build a table top version of the Da Vinci Bridge which was brought into both school by volunteers from the project.
To conclude the week, on Saturday evening Sandon Choir took part in a performance with other groups from the local community singing and signing the song ‘Lean on Me’ in the town centre. To view the video please follow the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjSSdMRok7g&safe=active
