Sandon’s Sensory Garden is officially open!
You are probably aware that we have been fundraising to raise money for an onsite Sensory Garden at Sandon and earlier this year we achieved our target of £25,000!
The garden installation is now complete and the new garden will provide alternative learning and invaluable enrichment for GANF pupils.
James Ellis, Senior Principal at GANF, “This has been such a big team effort and we are thrilled to now have this fantastic permanent fixture at Sandon School.
Having a sensory garden on site will enable our pupils to explore and access sensory experiences on a regular basis”.
An official opening was held today, Friday 16th September, and Nick Boles MP cut the ribbon!
The garden has been installed in memory of a former Sandon pupil, Molly Brown. Molly’s parents, Brother and Grandma, also attended the opening and were thrilled with the garden.
National signing group, ‘Singing Hands’ also came along to sing and sign with all the pupils...click here.
GANF would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who helped us reach our target including FOSA, the parents, the staff and the pupil’s themselves, for their own fundraising events! We would also like to say a big THANK YOU to The Wolfson Foundation, for their grant of £19,000.
The pupils at GANF can now enjoy fuelling their senses every day at school!
