Oak Class had a fantastic day out at Belvoir Castle. This was a special treat for them following their Table Top Cricket Tournament earlier in the year. Former Cricketer and Trust Director, Darren Bicknell started the day off with a game of cricket with the pupils.
There were some star batters and some super fielders. Next, the pupils all went up to the Belvoir Castle grounds and saw a hawk named Scooby Doo! They each had a turn wearing the glove and coaxing Scooby to fly to them! He was a very friendly hawk.
Afterwards, Oak Class enjoyed a walk around the beautiful gardens and found a secret hideout. Following lunch they also did a spot of fishing in the lakes. The pupils were shown some of the different insects that can be found in the river and they talked about the different parts of a fish. They had some great catches, 7 in total!
A huge thank you to Darren and Sam at Belvoir Cricket and Countryside Trust for another fantastic day out for GANF pupils!
