Sandon Class Presentations

on .

You will be aware that last year we trialled a new scheme at GANF to give children from each class the opportunity to show their parents and carers exactly what they are learning during their school day.

This proved a huge success at Ambergate, not only with positive feedback from parents enjoying seeing what their children had been getting up to at school, but also because we have seen an increase in pupils confidence and self esteem.

During the last week of term, it was the turn of Sandon Parents and Carers to visit school to find out what has been happening in Cherry, Willow, Orchard, Beech and Oak Classes.

Wonderful films were shown to parents to demonstrate exactly what happens during the school day. We saw how full and jam packed the school day is for the children and the sorts of things they have been learning all about within their curriculum including Literacy, Numeracy, Phonics and Art, aswell as seeing them enjoy swimming lessons, signing and singing.

The pupils from Oak Class then wowed parents with a performance all about their favourite subjects and sang a song all about their favourite reading books. They finished their presentation singing the 'whole world in his hands' song.

Beech Class also presented to parents, showing them a wonderful performance based around RE called 'The Story of Creation'. The children very much enjoyed dressing up for their parts too!

Parents were even lucky enough to see some pupil artwork on display and browse some of their child's class work.

It was a remarkable morning and parents/carers were thrilled to get an insight into the school day. The feedback we received was quite over whelming, here are some quotes below:

"It was lovely to see all the children, not just my own, as they are all growing up together".

"Absolutely amazing!".

"It was clear that the children have a varied curriculum. The presentations were perfect. I am an Aunt of a child at Sandon and I felt privileged to share today with my nephew. What a great achievement for Sandon today".

"The presentation was great. It was good to see the staff working with my child".

"It was lovely. Great to see my child in his environment, with his friends and teachers, looking so happy and confident".

"Great to see the varied activities, really beneficial. Please continue with this type of presentaion".

This scheme is being rolled out across the whole Fellowship and we aim to run three class presentations every half term. So look out for your child’s class presentation in the near future!

We look forward to welcoming you into school very soon.
