You will be aware that last year we trialled a new scheme at GANF to give children from each class the opportunity to show their parents and carers exactly what they are learning during their school day.
This proved a huge success at Ambergate, not only with positive feedback from parents enjoying seeing what their children had been getting up to at school, but also because we have seen an increase in pupils confidence and self esteem.
During the last week of term, it was the turn of Sandon Parents and Carers to visit school to find out what has been happening in Cherry, Willow, Orchard, Beech and Oak Classes.
Wonderful films were shown to parents to demonstrate exactly what happens during the school day. We saw how full and jam packed the school day is for the children and the sorts of things they have been learning all about within their curriculum including Literacy, Numeracy, Phonics and Art, aswell as seeing them enjoy swimming lessons, signing and singing. The pupils from Oak Class then wowed parents with a performance all about their favourite subjects and sang a song all about their favourite reading books. They finished their presentation singing the 'whole world in his hands' song.
It was a remarkable morning and parents/carers were thrilled to get an insight into the school day. The feedback we received was quite over whelming, here are some quotes below:
This scheme is being rolled out across the whole Fellowship and we aim to run three class presentations every half term. So look out for your child’s class presentation in the near future!
We look forward to welcoming you into school very soon.
